Phone Ringtones · updated October 14, 2026

In short: your videos, audio files and ringtones stay on your iPhone. The app has no account and never sends your files anywhere. What leaves your phone: anonymous usage statistics, to our own server (you can turn them off); what Google AdMob needs to show the ads you choose to watch; and what Apple processes for purchases.

Your files

When you pick a video or an audio file, the app opens it on your iPhone, extracts the sound and creates the ringtone on your iPhone. Nothing is uploaded: all processing happens on the device. The app only sees the file you pick in Apple's picker, not the rest of your photo library.

"Find the best part" and "Enhance sound" also analyse the sound on your iPhone: nothing is sent.

Your ringtones are stored in the app's folder, visible in the Files app. Deleting the app deletes them.

Your contacts

Only if you use "Assign to a contact". You pick the contact in Apple's picker, which gives the app only that person. To open their card, iOS then asks for access to your contacts; if you decline, the app explains how to do it yourself in the Contacts app. The app reads your contacts only to show that card: it does not copy, keep or send them anywhere. You can remove access at any time in Settings › Phone Ringtones.

Usage statistics

To know what to improve, the app sends our own server, located in France, events such as "a ringtone was created", "find the best part was used" or "the app was opened". Each event holds only its name and a few fixed values (for example "video" or "audio"). The app also reports which screen you open (home, editor, settings…), without the time spent there, and, on the next launch, that it crashed and on which screen: nothing else, no technical detail and no content. Never a file name, a ringtone name, a contact, or anything you type: the server refuses anything it does not expect.

These events are tied to an identifier drawn at random by the app and used by it alone. It is not the advertising identifier and cannot recognise you anywhere else. The server also knows the app version, the iOS version, the iPhone model (for example "iPhone12,1"), the language, and the country derived from the connection. It does not keep your IP address.

This data is kept for 13 months at most, then deleted. It is not sold, shared or combined with anything else. In Settings › Statistics you can turn sending off ("Anonymous statistics") or erase what was already sent ("Erase my statistics").

No account

The app asks for no sign-up, name or email address.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

The free version offers ads you choose to watch in order to create a ringtone. They are served by Google AdMob. To show them, AdMob may receive technical information about your device (model, iOS version, language, IP address, app-scoped identifiers) and about the ads shown.

In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, a form asks for your consent the first time an ad is about to be shown. You can decline and will then see non-personalised ads. You can change your choice at any time in Settings › Ad choices.

The app does not ask for iOS tracking permission and does not use your iPhone's advertising identifier to track you across apps.

How Google uses this data: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Purchases

Premium is bought through the App Store. Apple processes the payment: we never see your payment details. The app only receives confirmation that a purchase is active.

App settings

Your preferences (theme, haptics, number of ringtones created today) are stored on your iPhone, only to make the app work.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data about them.

Your rights

Since the app keeps no personal data on a server, there is nothing for us to access or delete. For data processed by Google or Apple, you can exercise your rights with them. Questions: admin@getsaute.com.

Changes

If the app changes how it handles data, this page will be updated, with its date, before the version that applies the change.
